If you want a taste of both Kerala's misty mountains and its famous backwaters, this is the tour. Drive from Cochin to the tea‑covered hills of Munnar, then glide through the serene backwaters on a private houseboat. All in just three days, with private transport and cosy stays.
Meet our representative at Cochin International Airport or Ernakulam railway station. We drive east towards the Western Ghats, stopping at the stunning Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls – a perfect spot for photos. En route, you can visit a spice plantation and see cardamom, pepper, and vanilla growing. Arrive in Munnar, check into your hotel, and spend the evening soaking in the cool mountain air.
Overnight in Munnar.
After an early breakfast, we drive downhill to Alleppey (approx. 4–5 hours). By noon, you'll board your private houseboat. Cruise through the palm‑fringed backwaters, watch village life unfold, and enjoy a freshly prepared Kerala lunch on board. The boat moors in a quiet spot for the night – dinner and overnight stay on the houseboat (AC available at night).
Overnight on houseboat.
Disembark after breakfast (around 9 AM) and drive back to Cochin. Depending on your flight/train schedule, we offer a quick tour of Fort Kochi: the iconic Chinese Fishing Nets, St. Francis Church, Santa Cruz Basilica, and the Dutch Palace (closed on Fridays). Later, you'll be dropped at Cochin airport or railway station. The tour ends with beautiful memories.
Tour concludes.
✔ Munnar can get chilly in the evenings (especially December–February) – carry a light jacket.
✔ The best tea is available at the Kannan Devan Tea Shop near the town centre.
✔ On the houseboat, request Karimeen pollichathu (pearl spot fish) – a Kerala delicacy.
✔ If you have extra time, ask about adding a short trek in Munnar or a canoe ride in Alleppey.
Cochin International Airport (COK) is well connected to all major Indian cities. Ernakulam Junction (railway station) is also a major railhead. We include pickup and drop from both.
Our standard package includes a deluxe houseboat with one bedroom, attached bathroom, living area, and open deck. Lunch, dinner, and breakfast are prepared fresh on board.
Absolutely. The itinerary is relaxed, and kids love the waterfall stops and the houseboat cruise. Life jackets are provided on the boat.
October to May offers pleasant weather in both Munnar (15–25°C) and Alleppey. The monsoon (June–August) makes the waterfalls spectacular but may limit some outdoor activities.
